Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s school contacted us last week for advice on how to celebrate Autism Awareness Month.
We advised identity first language, no blue or puzzle pieces and to use the gold Neurodiversity symbol. We also advised using ‘Autistic Acceptance’ instead of Autism Awareness.
Today AIM Director’s Jenny Payne and Emma Dalmayne did a talk on sensory issues, engagement and communication for the classroom staff.
It was lovely to meet them and we are grateful they sought out an autistic led organisation to advise them.
We look forward to working with them in the future. ♾
Below are some images we sent them to print, feel welcome to save them.
