ASD Outreach Worker Admits She 'Doesn't Know Much About Autism'...

Today I attended a meeting with Greenwich Parent Carer Participation Forum (not to be confused with Greenwich Carers Centre). I spoke to Hetal Patel, head Support Team for Education in Primary and Secondary Schools (STEPS) and Martyn Patterson Co Head of SEND Assessment and Review Service.

I spoke of my concerns to Hetel about ASD Outreach (STEPS is provided by them) bringing in Attention Autism training to local schools. I emailed an informative blog by Bobbi Elman Bobbi Elman Autistic Experience Consultancy & Training SM on the danger of Attention Autism:

And let her know that I would be putting it out that I had raised worries about it.

Hetal said that she has been a teacher and a SENCO, but admitted that she 'doesn't know that much about Autism.

I find this concerning. This was witnessed by Jemma Whitelock one of our attendees and member of GPCPF.

I do hope they take note about what was raised.
