AIM Director's Emma Dalmayne and William Vanderpuye were at an exclusive consultation session at the Ministry of Justice, focused on providing feedback to the Law Commission’s review of disabled children’s social care law, including provisions related to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This is a critical opportunity to ensure that the voices of Black and mixed heritage families, particularly those navigating the challenges of the SEND system, are heard and represented in shaping the future of social care law.
The Law Commission is responsible for reviewing and recommending changes to laws in the UK to make them fairer, simpler, and more effective. Their findings and proposals are provided as advice to the UK Government, shaping future policy decisions. This consultation is a chance to influence these recommendations and ensure they reflect the needs of our communities.
